Getting and storing your Tezspire
Tezspire may only be prescribed by your doctor in line with the licensed and recommended usage, and it is given in an injection. Tezspire may be injected by your doctor or nurse, or sent to you via Homecare for you to inject yourself, or with the help of your caregiver.
Once you have been trained to inject Tezspire, you will find resources available on this website and in the medicine carton to support you. It is crucial to follow the instructions exactly to ensure that the medication is received correctly and that you are getting the intended benefits.
You should keep your Tezspire in a refrigerator (2°C to 8°C) in the original package. It should be kept out of sight and reach of children. Do not use the injection if the expiry date has passed. The medicine expires on the last day of the month stated as the expiry date – you will find this on the carton and device label. Keep the pre-filled pen or syringe in the outer carton in order to protect from light.
Let Tezspire come to room temperature (between 20°C to 25°C) for at least 60 minutes before injecting. Keep the pre-filled pen or syringe in the outer carton in order to protect from light.
Do not warm the pre-filled pen or syringe in any other way. For example, do not warm it in a microwave or hot water, in direct sunlight, or near other heat sources. Do not shake or freeze the pre-filled pen or syringe either.
Once removed from the fridge, Tezspire may be kept at room temperature (20°C to 25°C) in the outer carton for a maximum of 30 days. After 30 days, you must safely dispose of your Tezspire. Once Tezspire has reached room temperature, do not put it back in the refrigerator.
Do not throw away any medicines via wastewater. Ask your pharmacist how to throw away medicines you no longer use. These measures will help protect the environment.

The information on this site is intended for UK patients, and their caregivers, aged 12 and over who have been prescribed Tezspire (tezepelumab) for uncontrolled severe asthma.
The site is intended to complement the ‘Instructions for Use’ and ‘Patient Information Leaflet’ (included in the carton) and does not act as a replacement. Please refer to these materials for additional important information and each time you get another injection. There may be new information.
Connect 360 is a patient support programme for people in the UK who have been prescribed Tezspire for their uncontrolled severe asthma, and have provided their informed consent to join. Patients aged 18 or over are eligible to join Connect 360 (or aged 12 and over with nominated caregiver).
The Connect 360 service is here to help you manage your condition, achieve your health goals and get the most out of your treatment with Tezspire.
The service includes delivery of your Tezspire as well as support with administration of the treatment. The Connect 360 website and Nurses are here to support you with information about Tezspire and how to use it.
If your doctor has transferred you to Homecare, a company will begin delivering Tezspire directly to your chosen address.
At least one day before your first home visit, your Connect 360 Nurse will call you to confirm arrangements for the visit and to ensure that you are ready to proceed with your injection, and have received your Tezspire.
During your initial phone call with your Connect 360 nurse you will agree a 1 or 2-hour slot for your first home visit, depending on how experienced you are with Tezspire.
On the day of your home visit, your Connect 360 Nurse will call you to let you know they are on their way and when they are due to arrive.
A Connect 360 Nurse will visit you in your home and go through details about the product, storage, safe disposal of sharps, possible side effects and the injection device. Your Nurse will have a training device so he or she can demonstrate with this before you self-inject. Your Nurse will show you the different areas of the body where you can inject.
During the first visit, your Nurse will inject Tezspire for you. From the second visit onwards, you will be able to self-inject.
If you have never taken Tezspire before, the first two home visits will last up to 2 hours to ensure you are comfortable with your device, and after that each visit will last up to an hour.
You can speak with your Connect 360 Homecare service provider to arrange your visits at a mutually convenient time. You will find contact details in your Homecare welcome pack.
Delivery will normally take place between Monday and Friday from 8:00am and 6:00pm. You will receive a reminder SMS text message on the evening before your delivery, informing you of the 2-hour delivery window.
Someone who is at least 18 years of age will need to sign for the delivery. We can only leave deliveries with people who have been authorised to accept them on your behalf, and you will be asked at the time of arranging each delivery if you wish to nominate an authorised recipient, for example your neighbour or a relative. The delivery vans have refrigerators and your medication must go straight in the fridge once delivered.
With your first delivery, we will provide a sharps bin for you to dispose of used injection devices, and you can request replacement sharps bins with future deliveries. When the sharps bin is full, you can request removal of this when you arrange your delivery.
Becoming comfortable with self-injecting
Before your first time self-injecting Tezspire, you will be offered training by your Nurse to ensure you feel comfortable. You should also read through the 'instructions for use' provided in your Tezspire carton and ask your Nurse any questions. You also have access to additional resources on this website: a video on demonstrating how to self-inject, and full instructions that you can download.
You will be offered training and instructional resources to help you become confident with self-inject through your Nurse, the 'instructions for use' in your Tezspire carton, and through self-injection resources on this website. Your Nurse will assess you at each visit and will offer you extra visits until you feel confident and able to self-inject. Your Nurse will also discuss with you the possibility of a caregiver administering the medication to you.
If you still do not feel confident with self-injection, you will be offered a training visit or video call. Your Connect 360 Nurse will be able to answer your questions and may refer you back to the hospital if required.
You should follow the 'instructions for use' carefully to ensure that you complete your injection correctly. The instructions will also show you how your device will look once the injection is completed correctly.
If you are worried that you have not completed the injection correctly, please contact your Connect 360 Nurse, or Healthcare Professional. Do not take a double dose.
If you have forgotten to inject a dose, inject a dose as soon as possible. Then have your next injection on your next scheduled injection day.
If you did not notice that you missed a dose until it is time for your next dose, simply inject the next dose as scheduled. Do not inject a double dose to make up for a forgotten dose.
If you are not sure when to inject Tezspire, ask your doctor, pharmacist or nurse.
Continuing to take my Tezspire
If your asthma has improved since receiving Tezspire, it suggests that your medication may be working for you. You need to continue taking your Tezspire until you are advised otherwise by your Healthcare Professional.

How long you stay on Tezspire will be a decision between you and your hospital doctor. You may be on Tezspire for a long period of time, if it is still effective for you and there are no indications that you should come off the treatment.
